If you decide to have a friend or family member build a website as a favor or on the cheap, we can almost guarantee you’ll regret it. Some of the worst website problems come from “my nephew who’s in I.T., but got a full-time job and doesn’t have time anymore…”

Just because your friend or family member is more technical than you does not mean they understand how to create a website that will do you any good. In fact, some of the ugliest, least user friendly websites are built by engineers who have no business designing a website. They understand only how to fulfill a wishlist of functions with no regard for aesthetic.

Beware the DIY Website Builders

If it sounds too good to be true, it always is. Companies like GoDaddy, Wix and Weebly offer DIY website builder tools to “Build a website in under an hour!”

Just don’t. Please don’t. You’ll end up like so many of our clients pleading for help with a broken website they have no idea how to fix.
